With the second half of the season set to begin within the next two weeks, many PSL clubs are already reinforcing their squads in preparation for the run-in.

However, Badela revealed that Durban City have yet to confirm any plans to bring in new players, preferring instead to assess the current group at his disposal.

The KwaZulu-Natal-based side currently sit seventh on the league table after collecting 22 points from 15 matches, a return that has left the new coach confident about what his squad can achieve in the second round of the campaign.

Badela believes there is sufficient quality within the team to remain competitive without immediate external additions.

He also emphasised his desire to give opportunities to players from the DStv Diski Challenge setup before exploring signings from outside the club.

According to Badela, promoting from within aligns with the club's long-term vision and allows younger players to prove themselves at senior level.

"No, I'm happy with the team I have as of now, and I'm thankful to people who assembled it," said Badela during the interview on Prime Time Sport on UKhozi FM.

"What I'm busy with at the moment is checking the young boys we have [in the DDC], I watch them every day.

"We want to see what we have in that team and then if we don't find what we want in that team, then we can go out.

"But so far, our Diski Challenge boys have really impressed me. I would like to give them a chance first before we see where we can add."
