Sundowns midfielder Miguel Reisinho could be heading for an early exit

The 27-year-old Portugal youth international joined Sundowns as a free agent after leaving Boavista, who were impacted by financial difficulties following their relegation to Portugal's second tier.

Once widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted products of Portugal's youth development system, he arrived in South Africa carrying significant expectations.

His spell in the Premier Soccer League has not unfolded as intended. Reisinho was sent off with a straight red card just minutes into his competitive debut, and his campaign has since been disrupted and inconsistent. He has managed 14 appearances in all competitions, contributing two goals and one assist.

Opportunities have also been limited by strong competition within the squad. Jayden Adams' excellent form has pushed him further down the pecking order, while Marcelo Allende and Teboho Mokoena remain ahead of him in Miguel Cardoso's setup, where the trio are regarded as undroppable starters.

Reisinho arrived at the same time as compatriot Nuno Santos, who has enjoyed a far more productive spell. Operating mainly in an advanced midfield role, Santos has registered five goals and 11 assists across 36 appearances.
