Sverre Nypan returns to Man City after six-month loan spell

According to a report by Sky Sports News on Sunday, the 19-year-old midfielder has returned to his parent club after his playing time at Middlesbrough started declining in recent weeks.

City officials are understood to be pleased with Nypan's overall development during the loan, despite the reduced minutes towards the end of his spell on Teesside.

Nypan made 22 appearances for Middlesbrough across all competitions, gaining valuable exposure to the physical and tactical demands of English football.

The loan was designed specifically to help him adapt to the English game, and City believe that objective has now been achieved.

As a result, the Norway youth international is expected to go straight into the first-team environment at the Etihad Stadium. He will begin training under Pep Guardiola, with the short-term aim of competing for a place in City's senior squad rather than being sent out on another immediate loan.

Nypan joined Manchester City from Norwegian side Rosenborg in July, signing a five-year contract that runs until 2030. Considered one of the most promising young midfielders in Scandinavia at the time of his move, City have been careful in managing his pathway since his arrival.
