Thando Ngwenya's agent explains the secret behind his stunning form

Ngwenya has enjoyed a sensational start to the 2026/27 season, scoring eight goals in six matches across all competitions and quickly establishing himself as one of the leading marksmen in the Betway Premiership.

His form has also earned him a deserved call-up to the Zimbabwe senior national team, while his goalscoring exploits have inevitably led to speculation about interest from other clubs.

However, Mahachi believes Ngwenya should remain focused on his performances for AmaZulu rather than allowing talk about his future to become a distraction.

"It is important that we allow the boy to focus on the job at hand with the club that he is contracted to," Mahachi, as quoted by KickOff, said.

"Once there is a tangible deal on the table we will go through the appropriate process as he is contracted to AmaZulu.

"He is enjoying his game, and I think that is what he needs to continue doing.

"It is only six matches into the season, so he needs to play more games and score more goals," he added.

Ngwenya is in his second season with AmaZulu after joining from FC Platinum, where he came through the development ranks and worked under coach Norman Mapeza.

Mahachi believes that experience was crucial in shaping the striker, particularly given Mapeza's demanding approach.

"He went through Mapeza's hands and knowing how demanding a coach he is then that should give you an idea of the influence he had on the boy," he added.

"Thando came through from FC Platinum's development and went straight to the hands of Mapeza who then did what he had to do. What I have to make note of is that he is from a principled family and it shows in how he carries himself."

Ngwenya will be looking to continue with his scoring form when Usuthu take on Marumo Gallants at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
