TS Galaxy coach Bernard Parker backs Zulu after Mamelodi Sundowns battle

Despite the defeat, Parker was particularly impressed by Zulu's ability to contain Sundowns forward Bryan Leon, who struggled to make a significant impact against the Galaxy defender.

"I'm also proud of Zulu at the back in terms of the leadership he showed. He kept Leon quiet, Leon couldn't do anything," Parker told the media after the game this week.

The coach believes Zulu's performance demonstrated the importance of leadership and composure at the back, particularly when facing quality opposition.

Galaxy had entered the match with a clear tactical approach, looking to exploit the space behind Sundowns' defensive line. Parker felt his players executed that plan effectively and created several opportunities.

"Tough one, hard one to swallow. We had a game plan, stuck to the game plan, we showed tenacity, we showed the unity, and the main objective for us was to attack the space behind, which we did well and got a couple of chances," he explained.

Despite conceding three goals, Parker believes there are encouraging signs within his squad, which combines experienced players with promising youngsters.

"We've got a good mix of senior players and youngsters. We just got to make sure we learn and we keep learning and we keep improving," he added.

At the opposite end of the pitch, Victor Letsoalo provided a major positive by scoring twice for Galaxy.

Parker, himself a former striker, praised the veteran forward for his finishing and leadership, while stressing that the team must improve defensively.

"I'm also very proud of Victor as well. I'm a big fan of Victor Letsoalo in terms of the leadership he showed in front," Parker said.

"I believe with the type of style we play, we always get a goal in a game. So, it's just for us to keep it clean at the back."
