Amakhosi played five friendly matches abroad - facing FC Twente, NEC Nijmegen, Vitesse, FC Utrecht, and PEC Zwolle - as part of their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign. The tour was also used to assess team dynamics and integrate the club's six new additions.
Chiefs have so far bolstered their squad with Nkanyiso Shinga, Ethan Chislett, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Flavio Silva, and former Orlando Pirates duo Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane.
Speaking on Soccerbeat, Masilela singled out Monyane for praise, highlighting his composure and adaptability.
"Monyane, the right back, looks decent both in possession and when defending. His defensive positioning and awareness during crosses stood out," said Masilela.
"For someone coming from Pirates and now adapting to a new team and teammates, he looked very settled. That impressed me."
However, Masilela noted that some of the other signings may need more time to find their rhythm.
"Silva is still new to the group, and while he's trying, we haven't seen that confidence or instinct yet to suggest he'll consistently score. But there's still time."
"It's a tough one with Shinga and Chislett. We haven't seen enough yet. Sometimes when a player joins, you can immediately spot the quality - the touch, the intent - even if the opposition is strong. But I haven't seen that moment from them yet."
Chiefs are expected to return to South Africa on Saturday, where they will continue their pre-season preparations. Their next assignment is a Toyota Cup showdown against Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, scheduled for 26 July at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
