Vincent Kompany prioritises stability over signings at Bayern Munich

Kompany views the return of injured players as "like new signings" and has not pushed for any new arrivals, aligning with the club's stance of no winter incomings.

"We're not looking outside because we have our squad," Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl said. "We've communicated clearly that three injured players are returning and are like new signings for us. We won't be bringing in any external signings this winter. FC Bayern is not a money printer, we always think economically."

Kompany is reportedly keen to keep his core players, including Leon Goretzka and Raphael Guerreiro. A source close to the club added: "Vincent Kompany holds him (Goretzka) in very high regard and greatly values his performances." The coach is focused on maintaining squad depth as Bayern compete in multiple tournaments.

The one exception may be Sacha Boey, who has limited playing time and reportedly raised concerns about his attitude. One insider said Boey is "free to leave the club in January" and that Bayern are "actively seeking a departure." Kompany was said to have been "furious" after an incident where Boey delayed getting changed for a substitution.

Kompany has also emphasised the long-term development of his squad, particularly younger players. He said: "This is a long-term process; it's not about hype, but about a successful career for them.

"As coach, you've to stand for who you are as a person: I love having possession of the ball, being creative, and so we also have to be aggressive on the pitch and brave."

Bayern's approach in January is clear: focus on their own squad, integrate returning players, and maintain stability rather than chase new signings.
