'We are going to beat them' - Kai Havertz backs Arsenal to 'shock' PSG in Champions League final

The German forward knows exactly what it takes to win at the very highest level, having scored the only goal in the 2021 final for Chelsea against Manchester City. Now, he believes Arsenal can deliver on the biggest stage once again, despite going into the match as underdogs.

"It is going to be hard, but we are going to be well prepared," Havertz said. "We have been fighting on the highest level for a couple of years now and we have finally won the Premier League. That gives us a big boost."

He added: "It doesn't matter if you are an underdog or whatever. We are going to go on the pitch and are going to beat them."

Havertz's journey back to this moment has not been straightforward. Injuries disrupted much of his last 18 months, including hamstring and knee problems that required surgery. He missed key parts of the 2025 season, including the Champions League semi-final defeat to PSG, and also sat out the early stages of the current campaign.

Reflecting on that period, he admitted: "I was in a bad place when I was injured. You are just inside a building. You cannot go out, you cannot walk, you do nothing. But all the players and staff helped me believe in myself and to get back to my best."

Since returning in January, he has rediscovered form and rhythm, contributing six goals and five assists, including decisive late strikes in Europe and domestic competitions. His return has also given Mikel Arteta more attacking flexibility at a crucial stage of the season.

Arsenal head to Puskas Arena with confidence growing in the camp, and Havertz's belief reflects a squad determined not just to compete, but to win when it matters most.
