Miguel Cardoso reflects on disappointing start to new Betway Premiership season
Miguel Cardoso admits his side were not at their best after being held to a 1-1 draw with Chippa United in their Betway Premiership opener.
Siphesihle Mkhize scored the only goal of the game after 48 minutes to secured all three points for Eric Tinkler's new-look Banina Noko.
It wasn't the start Ouaddou wanted after replacing Jose Riveiro at Bucs this season, but the new boss insisted there were plenty of positives to take from the tie.
Speaking after the match, the Pirates boss told SuperSport: "We were dominant.
"We created a lot of chances but in football when you are not decisive in the box, your opponents can have chances."
Ouaddou led his new team to a 2-0 win at home to Polokwane City in their MTN8 quarter finals last weekend, and says they will regroup ahead of taking on Marumo Gallants on Tuesday.
"We have to keep believing this is the beginning," he added.
"We wanted to a show another face today and win again at home. The team played very well, we were organised we had many chances and we played some nice football. Let's keep believing.
"When I see the behaviour of the players during that game, the intensity was good. We didn't score, we hit the post. It was the last pass, maybe a lack of finishing. But let's focus for the next game, nothing is lost."
