Wrap: Thrilling rescue for Magesi as Golden Arrows punish red-carded Gallants

Late Drama as Magesi Snatch Point Against Chippa

Magesi FC fought back from 2-0 down to earn a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Chippa United in a lively Betway Premiership clash.

Chippa took control early when Ayabulela Konqobe struck a stunning long-range effort in the 42nd minute, assisted by Bongani Sam, to give them a 1-0 lead at the break.

The visitors doubled their advantage shortly after halftime through Somila Ntsundwana in the 53rd minute, finished clinically from close range after a cross from Justice Figuareido.

Magesi responded strongly in the second half. Mcedi Vandala pulled one back in the 60th minute with a composed left-footed finish from the centre of the box, set up by Edmore Chirambadare.

The equaliser came dramatically in the 87th minute when Sifiso Luthuli slotted home from close range following a pinpoint cross by Nyakala Raphadu, securing a valuable point for the hosts.

The match featured several substitutions, yellow cards, and minor delays due to injuries, but no red cards. Both sides pressed until the final whistle in added time, with late corners and free-kicks failing to produce a winner.

Red Card proves costly as Arrows edge Gallants

Golden Arrows claimed a solid 2-1 victory over Marumo Gallants in Pretoria, thanks to a brace from Junior Dion and a numerical advantage after a first-half sending-off.

Arrows striker Sede Junior Dion opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a close-range finish to put the visitors 1-0 up.

Marumo Gallants’ hopes suffered a major blow in the 36th minute when Katlego Otladisa received a second yellow card and was sent off, leaving his side down to 10 men.

Despite the disadvantage, Gallants pushed for an equaliser after the break. Eroine Agnikoi headed home in the 65th minute from a set-piece cross by Msindisi Ndlovu to make it 1-2.

Dion sealed the win for Arrows in the 62nd minute with his second goal, a right-footed strike assisted by Lungelo Nguse.

The game saw numerous yellow cards, substitutions, and injury delays, but Arrows managed the match well to hold on for three crucial points in a competitive Betway Premiership encounter.
