LIV Golf still waiting for Official Golf World Ranking points status ahead of 2026 season
LIV Golf chairman Trevor Immelman is hoping the breakaway league receives ranking points status from the Official World Golf Ranking body.

Koepka, 35, announced his departure from the Saudi-backed league shortly before Christmas, ending his contract a year early to spend more time with family.
ESPN first reported that Koepka is seeking to return to the PGA Tour, where he last competed outside the majors at the Valspar Championship in March 2022.
Under PGA Tour rules, players must sit out for a year after their last LIV Golf event before returning. Koepka's most recent LIV appearance was in August 2025.
With nine PGA Tour victories to his name - including two US Opens and three PGA Championships - Koepka will need to complete a disciplinary review before being reinstated. The final decision will likely rest with new PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp, with input from the policy board, which features Tiger Woods.
Koepka remains eligible to play in the four majors thanks to a five-year exemption earned for winning the 2023 PGA Championship at Oak Hill. However, his world ranking has dropped to 244th, as LIV events currently do not award ranking points.
The 2026 PGA Tour season begins with the Sony Open in Hawaii, following the cancellation of the Sentry Tournament due to drought and water restrictions on Maui.
