Justin Rose in full control despite late stumbles at Torrey Pines
Englishman Justin Rose stretched his lead of the Farmers Insurance Open to six shots on Saturday.

The Englishman signed for a two under 70 around Torrey Pines on Sunday afternoon, which moved him to an impressive 23 under for the tournament, seven strokes ahead of the chasing pack. Rose’s total is one better than the 72-hole record set by Woods in 1999, something he was cognizant of in the closing stages.
"I was keenly aware of it, actually," quipped Rose.
"It was the only thing I was focused on the last three holes."
The chasing pack saw Si Woo Kim, Ryo Hisatsune and Pierceson Coody share the honours for runners-up. And despite finishing down in T56, PGA Tour returner Brooks Koepka was celebrated by the fans at the final green.
But back to the man of the moment, Justin Rose. The veteran is turning 46 this year, but recent form shows he has no signs of slowing down. Sunday marked his 27th career title, with his last coming at the FedEx St Jude Championship in August 2025. He also finished solo-second at the Masters last year.
"I still believe there's good stuff in front of me," added Rose.
"Those days or those weeks or those rounds are definitely showing me that the gas is still in the tank. Obviously, accessing it is the job now. How do I do that more often? That's always the trick, but at least knowing it's there is builds a lot of confidence."
