Liverpool's Conor Bradley returns from injury for Arsenal clash

The 22-year-old right-back, who missed the early part of the season due to a hamstring injury sustained in pre-season, made a brief but impactful return as a substitute in Liverpool's thrilling 3-2 win over Newcastle United earlier this week.

Bradley's return comes at a crucial time, with new signing Jeremie Frimpong currently sidelined by injury, leaving the right-back position up for grabs.

Manager Arne Slot expressed optimism about Bradley's readiness during a press conference on Friday. "Conor Bradley only had one or two training sessions before the Newcastle game, but he has trained fully this week," Slot said.

"Alexis Mac Allister has also returned to training, and Virgil van Dijk is fine. We came through the Newcastle match without any new injuries."

The update is welcome news for Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill, who has been closely monitoring Bradley's progress.

Named Northern Ireland's Player of the Year for 2024, Bradley has become a key figure for his national team, even captaining them in two Nations League matches last year, helping secure promotion.

With Frimpong out, Bradley has a golden opportunity to stake his claim against Arsenal, a match that could define Liverpool's early-season momentum.

Northern Ireland are also dealing with injury concerns to players like Dan Ballard and Brodie Spencer, making Bradley's fitness even more critical for O'Neill's squad.

Liverpool's depth and resilience have been evident, and Slot's management of Bradley's return signals a careful but ambitious approach. Fans will be eager to see if the young defender can seize this moment and cement his place in a star-studded Reds lineup.
