Mohau Nkota unfazed by Saudi Arabia move
Former Orlando Pirates forward Mohau Nkota insists he feels no pressure following his surprise move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq FC, a transfer officially confirmed on Sunday.
The Buccaneers, who have dominated the competition in recent years, will open the tournament at home against Polokwane City on Saturday, 2 August. The match is scheduled for a 3:00 PM kickoff at Orlando Stadium.
Later that same day, Sekhukhune United will host TS Galaxy at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in an evening clash kicking off at 6:00 PM.
Sunday's double-header begins with a showdown between two recent finalists. Stellenbosch FC - last year's beaten finalists - welcome 2022 runners-up AmaZulu to the DHL Stadium in Cape Town. That match kicks off at 3:00 PM.
The quarter-finals conclude with Mamelodi Sundowns taking on Richards Bay at Lucas Moripe Stadium at 6:00 PM. Sundowns, winners of the MTN8 in 2021, will look to reassert themselves in the competition.
For Richards Bay, this marks a historic moment - their first time reaching the MTN8, after finishing in the top eight last season.
However, they face a daunting task, having never beaten Sundowns in a competitive fixture.
All four matches are scheduled to take place the weekend before the start of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season, serving as an exciting prelude to the new campaign.
