However, Pirates supporters will have to wait before seeing their latest attacking recruit in action, with Ouaddou revealing that Pedersen is still unavailable due to outstanding administrative processes.
Speaking at the official Betway Premiership launch on Wednesday, the Pirates mentor explained that the Norwegian striker's arrival has been delayed by work permit and clearance issues.
"I don't think he (Pedersen) is already in the country," Ouaddou said.
"Of course, when you sign a player there are a whole lot of administrative issues, but hopefully he will come soon.
"I'm quite sure that he will not be part of the opening game."
Pedersen was unveiled by the Soweto giants last weekend after signing a two-year contract from Norwegian First Division outfit Sogndal Fotball.
The 27-year-old forward arrives with a reputation as a clinical finisher and was identified as a key addition to Pirates' attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
