Al Ahly reject Al-Hazem's bid for Aliou Dieng, declare midfielder 'not for sale'

The 27-year-old has drawn interest from multiple clubs, including Qatari outfit Al-Wakrah SC. However, the Egyptian giants remain firm in their position, turning down Al-Hazem's approach and insisting that Dieng is "not for sale."

Dieng recently returned to Cairo following a season-long loan spell at Saudi Arabia's Al-Kholood, where he made 31 appearances and scored three goals.

Despite playing only a limited role at the FIFA Club World Cup - featuring once as a substitute in Al Ahly's thrilling 4-4 draw with Porto - he remains central to the club's plans for the upcoming campaign.

Since signing from Algeria's MC Alger in 2019, Dieng has become a pillar in Al Ahly's midfield. In 214 appearances, he has contributed seven goals and 11 assists, anchoring a team that has enjoyed a dominant spell both domestically and on the continent.

During his time with the Cairo giants, Dieng has helped the club secure 14 major trophies, including:

Al Ahly's firm stance underlines their intention to retain the core of their squad as they prepare for another title-challenging season across all competitions.
