Arsenal pushing for Eberechi Eze deal as transfer deadline looms

The England international, who has two years left on his Selhurst Park contract, has a release clause worth up to 67.5 million pounds including bonuses.

Palace are insistent that the full amount be met, demanding an upfront payment of at least 35 million pounds, with the remainder of the initial 60 million pounds to be paid in instalments. The final 7.5 million pounds would come in performance-related add-ons.

Time is of the essence for Arsenal, as the release clause is believed to expire before 16 August. However, Palace remain firm in their valuation, regardless of the clause's expiry.

Eze, who joined Palace from QPR in 2020 for up to 19.5 million pounds, is keen on a return to Arsenal, having been released by the club at age 13. His representatives met with Arsenal last month to discuss personal terms. Should a deal be agreed, QPR are set to receive 15% of any profit made by Palace.

With over 200 million pounds already spent on six players this summer, Arsenal are expected to offload several fringe players to help fund a move for Eze.

Leandro Trossard, who has interest from Borussia Dortmund and other Premier League clubs, could depart, while Fulham are targeting Reiss Nelson.

Albert Sambi Lokonga, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Fabio Vieira may also be sold if suitable offers arrive.
