Bafana winger Thembinkosi Lorch signs for Libyan league leaders Al-Ittihad SC

The 32-year-old attacker joined Wydad from Mamelodi Sundowns in 2025 after a successful loan spell.

He was originally brought to the club by former Brazilians head coach Rulani Mokwena, who is now in charge of Algerian Ligue 1 side MC Algiers.

Lorch made a total of 28 appearances for the Moroccan side, scoring eight goals and providing four assists

This term he already has five goals and four assists in 11 appearances in all competitions but has since signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with Al-Ittihad, who are currently top of the Libyan Premier League with five wins from their first five matches of the new season.

A delighted Al-Ittihad announced the news on social media, welcoming the player to the club, saying: “The South African magician who spreads his creations wherever he goes and goes, he changed the place but didn't change the colors.”

Lorch began his career with Maluti FET back in 2013 and has also turned out for All Stars, Orlando Pirates and Chippa United.
