Nedbank Cup: Durban City, TS Galaxy gear up for underdogs showdown
Durban City will be targeting their first silverware in the Premier Soccer League when they face TS Galaxy in the Nedbank Cup final at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

It was back in 2019 when Galaxy won the KeYona Cup final, beating giants Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 in the final, with Parker being in the Amakhosi squad, before his transition into coaching.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Parker, who took charge of Galaxy from the departed Adnan Beganovic, said the club must draw belief from their past success in the competition as they prepare for another shot at glory.
"For TS Galaxy it's a great opportunity to rewrite history. As you said earlier on that we won it in 2019. So, it's a good opportunity for us to repeat history," Parker said.
The 2019 triumph remains one of the most iconic moments in TS Galaxy's history, when they defeated Chiefs to become the first second-tier side to lift the Nedbank Cup.
Parker now hopes the current squad can channel that same spirit when they face Durban City FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
Beyond the desire to lift silverware again, Parker stressed the importance of what another cup victory would represent for the club's growth and ambitions.
"It's also a great opportunity for us to put the club on the map. And it's also a great opportunity for us to go compete in continental football as well," he explained, referring to qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.
He added that preparation and mentality would be key if TS Galaxy are to rise to the occasion once again.
"So it's just for us as a team during our preparations to make sure we do all the preparations that on the day we are at the right mental levels and physical level," Parker concluded.
With history already firmly attached to TS Galaxy in this competition, Parker now carries the responsibility of trying to help them relive it - this time as the man leading them from the technical area.
