Biggest transfers and signings ahead of the new PSL campaign

The new season kicks-off this weekend for most sides besides Marumo Gallants and Mamelodi Sundowns, after the latter's request for postponement following the recent passing of Jayden Adams and logistical concerns.

The top three sides have all reinforced their squads ahead of the new campaign and we delve into the headline signings of the transfer window thus far.

Relebohile Mofokeng - Orlando Pirated to Union Saint-Gilloise

South Africa's 2025/26 Player of the Season Mofokeng finally completed his much talked about move overseas after joining Belgian Pro League side Union Saint-Gilloise following an impressive FIFA World Cup campaign.

The 21-year-old was a pivotal part of the Buccaneers treble winning campaign last season, scoring 11 goals and providing nine assists in all competitions.

Mofokeng is primed to follow in former Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau, who played for the same club on loan before going on to play in the Premier League with Brighton and Hove Albion.

Siyanda Ndlovu - Golden Arrows to Mamelodi Sundowns

The exciting midfielder decided to join Mamelodi Sundowns over defending Betway Premiership champions Orlando Pirates from Abafana Bes'thende ahead of the new season.

"Skhwishi" has been particularly impressive for Arrows in the 2025/26 season, contributing with four goals and eight assist to help the side to a sixth placed finish on the league table.

The 22-year-old drew praise from former coach Manqoba Mngqithi, who touted for the player for a big move during his recent tenure with the Durban based club.

He is set to be a key part of the Masandawana squad which will need to have depth to compete to reclaim their league title and defend the CAF Champions League title.

Adolf Mtasingwa Bitegeko - Azam FC to Kaizer Chiefs

The midfielder joined the Amakhosi from Tanzanian Premier League side Azam FC for an undisclosed fee as the Soweto giants bolster their squad for the upcoming campaign under new head coach Fernando Da Cruz.

Mtasingwa has already impressed for Chiefs in his first appearance during the 1-0 victory over Zimbabwean champions Scottland FC in the recent pre-season Toyota Cup.

He will be a crucial part of the side which is set to compete in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup following their third-placed finish last season.

Sebastian Pedersen - Sognal Fotball to Orlando Pirates

The Buccaneers announced the signing of striker Pedersen from Norwegian second division side Sognal as they look to bolster their attack ahead of their title defences and CAF Champions League campaign.

The 27-year-old arrives at Mayfair with a good goal-scoring reputation with 59 goals in 166 appearances for various clubs before his move to South Africa.

He is set to compete with Evidence Makgopa, Yanela Mbuthuma and Boitumelo Radiopane for a starting berth for AmaBhakaniya.

Antonio Van Wyk - SV Reid to Mamelodi Sundowns

The former Stellenbosch star joins Masandawana on the back of an impressive spell with Austrian side SV Reid, helping them gain promotion to the Bundesliga while scoring four goals and providing seven assists.

Van Wyk will be tasked with improving a Sundowns attack that recently parted ways with PSL all-time top goalscorer Peter Shalulile, who has since joined Tanzanian giants Young Africans, who are led by his former coach Manqoba Mngqithi.

The 24-year-old has already impressed with a goal in their pre-season friendly draw against German side Hertha Berlin in Austria.
