Bundesliga wrap: Dortmund maintain title challenge, Leverkusen drop points on the road

Monchengladbach 1-1 Leverkusen

Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen played out a 1-1 draw at Borussia-Park.

Yannik Engelhardt opened the scoring on his 25th birthday after capitalising on a pressing error, with Philipp Sander's own goal levelling just before half-time.

Leverkusen dominated possession but struggled to create chances, while Gladbach remained winless in five, hovering just above the relegation play-off zone.

Wolfsburg 1-2 Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund kept their title hopes alive with a hard-fought away victory.

Julian Brandt opened the scoring before Koulierakis equalized for the hosts. However, Serhou Guirassy proved the hero again, netting an 87th-minute winner to secure Niko Kovac's 100th coaching win.

Heidenheim 0-2 Hamburg

Hamburg continued their solid mid-table form while deepening Heidenheim's relegation woes.

The visitors controlled the tempo and struck twice to silence the Voith-Arena. For bottom-placed Heidenheim, this defeat marks a missed opportunity to close the gap on those fighting for survival.

Freiburg 1-0 Werder

In a tightly contested affair at the Europa-Park Stadion, Freiburg edged out Werder Bremen thanks to an early strike from Jan-Niklas Beste.

Despite Bremen's 17 shots, they couldn't find a way past the Freiburg defense, moving the hosts into the top seven.

Mainz 2-0 Augsburg

Mainz secured a vital three points to distance themselves from the drop zone.

Nadiem Amiri was the star of the show, sealing the win with a second goal that sparked wild "carnival-inspired" celebrations. Augsburg struggled to create chances and remains in mid-table.

St Pauli 2-1 Stuttgart

St Pauli boosted their survival hopes with their first win of 2026.

Manolis Saliakas fired them ahead before Danel Sinani doubled the lead from the spot. Although Stuttgart pulled one back late through Leweling, the hosts held on for a massive result.
