Ex-defender believes coaching stability will steady Kaizer Chiefs ship

Following weeks of speculation over the coaching setup, Chiefs have opted to maintain continuity rather than pursue another overhaul. Tsotetsi believes this consistency could be the key to turning around the club’s fortunes.

“It’s a positive step. The players already understand these coaches, their philosophy, and what’s expected of them,” he told Soccer Laduma.

“Bringing in someone new would only have created more confusion. Continuity brings stability — and stability breeds results.”

Chiefs endured a turbulent spell before the international break, struggling to produce convincing performances. However, Tsotetsi is confident that Kaze and Youssef’s familiarity with the players gives them a strong foundation to build on.

“They’ve been in the dressing room; they know the squad’s strengths and weaknesses,” he explained.

“Now it’s about identifying what went wrong and fixing it quickly. The team has quality; they just need clarity and confidence.”

During the international break, the coaching pair have worked intensively to refine tactics and restore cohesion within the group. Tsotetsi believes this period of calm could spark a turning point in Chiefs’ campaign.

“Chiefs have enough talent to compete with the best. What’s been missing is consistency and belief. This decision might finally bring both.”

The real test of that stability will come when Amakhosi resume action on October 18 with a tough CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round first-leg clash away to Democratic Republic of Congo side Simba FC.
