The Egyptian side lifted the FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup on Tuesday night with a 3-1 win against the Asian champions at a packed King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Saudi Arabia.
Mayele stole the show, netting all three goals to seal a famous triumph for the African champions.
"I am very happy with the great win," Mayele told Qatari broadcaster Al-Kass, as quoted by Arham Online.
"What we did against Ahli Jeddah was very difficult, especially with the massive presence of their fans."
Pyramids head coach Krunoslav Jurcic praised his players for their resilience and teamwork against a high-quality opponent.
"I am proud of the great performance the team delivered in front of such a massive Ahli Jeddah crowd," Jurcic said in his post-match press conference.
"Ahli have top-class players, many with European experience, which makes me even prouder of my squad for working as a united group. I didn't expect us to reach this level just two years ago."
The victory sees Pyramids FC advance to the FIFA Challenger Cup, where they will face either Mexico's Cruz Azul or the eventual Copa Libertadores champions on 13 December in Doha.
The winner will then book a showdown with European giants Paris Saint-Germain in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
