Fiston Mayele sparks speculation with cryptic post amid Kaizer Chiefs links

The Pyramids FC striker enjoyed a stellar 2024/25 campaign, playing a key role in guiding the Egyptian giants to their first-ever CAF Champions League title. The 30-year-old scored 18 goals across all competitions, with eight of those coming in Africa's premier club competition.

Mayele's latest message on social media has added fuel to ongoing transfer rumours. The Congolese international posted:

"Two seasons with Pyramids FC and 41 goals in all competitions. Many thanks to the entire team and to all the people who helped me in everything. Thank God."

The post has been widely interpreted as a possible farewell, though no official confirmation has been made. Mayele remains under contract with Pyramids for another year, and the club has been quick to clarify their stance.

Speaking to WinWin, a source close to the club insisted that Pyramids have no intention of parting ways with the prolific striker:

"We have no intention of letting go of any key player from the team at the moment, especially Milei. The management wants to retain key players and reinforce the squad for the challenges ahead."

The statement also confirmed that while Pyramids are looking to bolster their attacking options during the current transfer window, this does not signal Mayele's imminent departure.

Mayele has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs for several months, with Soccer Laduma recently reporting that newly-appointed Amakhosi coach Nasreddine Nabi had traveled to Egypt - allegedly as part of a scouting mission focused on the Congolese hitman. Nabi and Mayele previously worked together, a connection that has only heightened speculation around a possible reunion at Naturena.

With Chiefs desperate to rebuild and find a reliable goal-scorer for the upcoming season, Mayele remains high on the club's radar. But prising him away from the reigning African champions may prove difficult.

As the transfer window unfolds, all eyes will remain on Mayele - and whether his next big move leads him to the PSL.
