Former Stellenbosch coach Steve Barker collects third monthly award at Simba SC

The former Stellenbosch mentor has hit the ground running since joining the Tanzanian giants, previously winning consecutive Coach of the Month titles for February and March before winning the Muungano Cup over rivals Young Africans in April.

Barker's side won five consecutive league fixtures during the month of May following a 2-2 draw in the Kariakoo Derby.

The Red Lions currently sit in second spot on the league table, two points behind arch-rivals Yanga with only four matches remaining in the season.

The South African head coach will surely be a lead candidate for Coach of the Season should his side pip their rivals to the Tanzanian Premier League title.
