Hamstring strain rules Proteas captain Temba Bavuma out of Test series in Zimbabwe

Bavuma sustained a hamstring strain while batting in the second innings of the World Test Championship final victory against Australia at Lord's and will undergo further scans to determine the extent of the injury.

The 15-man squad contains five uncapped players as the Proteas has opted to rest several members of the team that did duty in the WTC final against Australia.

Aiden Markram, Kagiso Rabada, Ryan Rickelton, Marco Jansen and Tristan Stubbs will all sit out the two Test matches against their African neighbours that starts on 28 June in Bulawayo while fast bowler Lungi Ngidi is only available for the second Test.

Batters Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Lesego Senokwane, Dewald Brevis, paceman Codi Yusuf and spinner Prenelan Subrayen could all be in line to make their Test debuts.
