'I'm incredibly happy' - Bayern Munich's Luis Diaz promises more trophies after 'spectacular' season

Diaz played a key role in Bayern's attack as the club lifted three trophies (Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Franz Beckenbauer Supercup) during the season, with the Colombian quickly becoming one of their most influential forwards.

Speaking to ESPN Colombia, Diaz described his first year in Munich as "spectacular", admitting even he did not expect things to go so well so quickly.

"I would describe it as spectacular, because for me it was a dream. Winning so many titles, winning three in the first season, is fantastic," Diaz said.

"You imagine many things when you arrive at a new club, you work for it, but when it happens, it truly fills you with pride, it fills you with joy, it gives you even more motivation to keep doing what you love, which is playing football, and to achieve many more."

Despite the success, the winger made it clear he is already focused on future challenges and more trophies at Bayern.

"So, I'm incredibly happy. Now I'll work even harder for what's to come, which is also going to be very important," he added.

Diaz's strong form has also secured him a place in Colombia's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with national team coach Nestor Lorenzo naming him as a key figure heading into the tournament.

After a standout debut season in Germany, where he recorded 26 goals and 19 assists in all competitions, Diaz now turns his attention to building on that success with both club and country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
