The Uruguay international has made an impressive start to his Anfield career, establishing himself as Liverpool's first-choice right-back despite preferring to play in central defence.
Liverpool have an option to sign the former Barcelona captain permanently for 47 million pounds. However, with Araujo turning 28 in March, the club will have to decide whether the investment makes sense in the long term.
"I'm really happy to be here, my family are also very happy but it's a bit early to be talking about these things," Araujo said ahead of Tuesday's Champions League meeting with Villarreal.
The defender has made 10 appearances for Liverpool and appears to have settled quickly into the demands of English football.
Araujo believes his experience at Barcelona, where he also faced the pressure of playing for one of Europe's biggest clubs, helped prepare him for the challenge at Anfield.
"Coming to Liverpool, it's not easy. There are those demands, that responsibility. Personally I'd already experienced that in Barcelona," he explained.
The 27-year-old acknowledged that adapting to a major club depends on the individual, but said he arrived in England determined to give everything to his new team.
"It depends on the personality of each player and how they face that challenge. I knew it was a new challenge coming to the Premier League but from the first moment I arrived I had no doubts I had to give everything here. And that's how I live it," he said.
Araujo added that the expectations at elite clubs were part of the job, with players required to embrace the responsibility that comes with representing them.
"It's not easy to be in big sides, but that's what we came to do. That's the work we have to do."
Liverpool have made a strong start to their Champions League campaign, winning both of their opening league-phase matches against Atletico Madrid and LASK. They sit fifth in the standings as they prepare to face Villarreal on Tuesday at Anfield.
