Mihlali Mayambela confirms Kaizer Chiefs talks, but stays grounded in Cyprus
Bafana Bafana winger Mihlali Mayambela has confirmed direct talks with Kaizer Chiefs amid growing speculation linking him with a return to South African football.
Amakhosi went down 2-1 to Vitesse Arnhem in their opening clash on Tuesday with Reeve Frosler on target.
Nasreddine Nabi made just one change to his squad from that tie, with Glody Lilepo replacing Mfundo Vilakazi in attack.
But it was all one-way traffic at Sportpark Driel as the Dutch side claimed a commanding victory.
Utrecht went ahead early on after a lapse in defence allowed Siebe Horemans to finish from close range.
Lilepo came close to an equaliser with a well-hit freekick that was ultimately deflected out for a corner.
Mduduzi Shabalala had a 35th minute effort comfortably saved before Utrecht doubled their lead in the 48th minute though a calm finish from Adrian Blake after some strong approach play.
Blake scored again with 55 minutes on the clock with an easy finish as Chiefs struggled to contain their opponents.
Nabi made wholesale changes as the game wore on but without any real change to their attacking approach and were comprehensively beaten when Miliano Jonathans picked up a superb pass from Matisse Didden in the 83rd minute before firing home.
