Kim Min-jae blocks exit talk, vows to fight for Bayern Munich place

According to Sky Germany, the South Korean centre-back has attracted interest from several clubs, including Fenerbahce and a number of Italian sides. However, Kim is determined to stay put and has no intention of leaving Bayern before June.

"I never thought about leaving Bayern this summer," Kim said. "I want to work hard, give everything for Bayern and help the club."

Kim joined Bayern from Napoli in July 2023 in a deal worth around fifty million euros and remains under contract until June 2028. While he played a key role last season, the 29-year-old found himself used more as a rotation option during the 2025-26 campaign, with Jonathan Tah and Dayot Upamecano preferred in central defence.

Reflecting on his reduced role, Kim admitted it was a new challenge but insisted it had not affected his commitment. "I've never experienced anything like this, but I think I can learn from it," he said.

"I am not particularly unhappy and I continue to train hard as always."

Kim also underlined his team-first mentality. "Even if my role is small, the team comes first," he added. "I am ready to fight whenever called upon to play."

Bayern officials are understood to have no plans to sell the defender at this stage, although they would listen if a significant offer arrived.

For now, Kim remains focused on pre-season preparation, adding: "For me, there's no reason to leave. I hope I can stay. I just want to be fit next season and prove myself."
