Orlando Pirates coach praises team spirit after victory over Golden Arrows

The match, played in front of a packed King Zwelithini Stadium, saw Pirates overcome a tense start before a flurry of second-half goals secured all three points.

With the score level at 1-1, substitute Yanela Mbuthuma made a game-changing impact, scoring twice to seal the win. His goals were set up by fellow substitutes Patrick Maswanganyi and Relebohile Mofokeng, underlining the depth and versatility of the squad.

Speaking to SuperSport after the match, Ouaddou praised the mentality and togetherness that allowed his team to turn the game around.

"It's the team spirit we want in Orlando Pirates. Everybody is important," he told the broadcaster.

"I always say there are no substitutes — only players and impact players. We want to keep this dynamic and this spirit until the end of the season."

The Bucs mentor added that maintaining the group's self-belief and hunger will be crucial as the campaign progresses.

"If we keep this team spirit and continue to push forward to score goals and develop ourselves, I believe we can have big ambitions," he continued.

The victory lifts morale in the Pirates camp after a run of inconsistent results in the league.

The focus now shifts to the Carling Knockout semi-final, where the Soweto giants will face Richards Bay in Durban this weekend.
