PSG boss Luis Enrique responds to Bradley Barcola future questions amid Liverpool interest

Barcola is back with the PSG squad ahead of Wednesday's Super Cup meeting with Aston Villa in Salzburg after an extended break following the World Cup, where he scored three times for France.

The 23-year-old has emerged as a key target for Liverpool as new manager Andoni Iraola looks to add another winger to his squad, but Enrique was unwilling to discuss the possibility of the forward leaving the French champions.

Asked about Barcola's situation, the PSG boss said: "I don't know and I don't want to speak about any player individually.

"Because it's always dangerous when you are asking something positive or negative about a player. I stay focused on my team."

Barcola returned to training last Monday alongside PSG's other French and Spanish internationals, meaning Enrique has had limited time to assess his players before the Super Cup.

"We are going to train today," he said. "We are trying to analyse everything and after that we are going to make our decision.

"It's a surreal situation. The international players, French, Spanish, arrived on Monday. That's just one week.

"But we prepared in the best way possible and we're happy to play this game, because it means we won an important title, the Champions League. It's very important for us and our club to win. But in terms of preparation, it's not what it should have been."

Liverpool's interest in Barcola comes as Iraola seeks further attacking reinforcements. The Reds have already brought in Ronald Araujo on loan from Barcelona and signed Victor Munoz, but the new manager has made clear that a winger remains a priority.

"I think it is difficult to say a number. When the market is open, you have to be always open to new options to improve the squad," Iraola said last month.

"There are obvious situations where we need to sign players. Winger for example, we definitely need to sign a winger, but there are other situations where we will have to analyse what the market gives you, what is the cost, how we also see the players we have."
