Report: Newcastle identify four striker targets to reshape attack

With plans to occasionally implement a two-striker system, the Magpies are seeking a partner to complement Alexander Isak, who will remain the focal point in attack.

A key name on Newcastle's shortlist is Brentford forward Yoane Wissa. The 28-year-old, who netted an impressive 19 Premier League goals last season, is reportedly enthusiastic about the move, attracted by Newcastle's ambition and their Champions League campaign.

Wissa is valued for his pace, tireless work ethic, and clinical finishing, and is seen as a dynamic and versatile addition to the frontline. Brentford are believed to be open to offers in the region of 50 million pounds.

Despite Wissa's strong interest, Newcastle's recruitment team face a challenging task, with Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) tightening financial manoeuvrability and competition for attacking roles adding further complexity.

Some potential signings are said to have concerns about playing second fiddle to Isak in a lone-striker formation.

In addition to Wissa, Newcastle are monitoring several alternatives. Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike, 23, is open to a Premier League move but has a hefty 100-million-euro release clause.

Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins is also admired, though Villa are reluctant to sell and his price tag stands at 90 million pounds.

Former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, now a free agent, has already held discussions and is considered a cost-effective, high-impact option.
