Xulu joined the Natal Rich Boys from Milford FC during the off-season and has wasted little time making his presence felt, scoring three goals in his last two matches.
The 22-year-old was the standout performer on Wednesday when Richards Bay played to an entertaining 2-2 draw against Kaizer Chiefs at Princess Magogo Stadium.
Xulu opened his account after putting pressure on Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen as the home side attempted to build from the back. His persistence paid off when the ball ricocheted into the net.
The striker then showed his aerial ability to complete his brace, rising above the Chiefs defence to head home from a corner.
His latest performance followed another eye-catching display against Durban City, where he produced a moment of individual brilliance to score in a 1-1 draw. Xulu turned away from defender Sphamandla Ncanana before curling an excellent long-range effort into the far corner.
With three goals already to his name, Gabriel believes Xulu has the qualities required to reach double figures during his first season at this level.
"He has been brilliant so far for us and has proven to be a fantastic signing," Gabriel was quoted by Sportswire.
"He has shown his value and quality, proving he can perform consistently at this level. What better way to repay the club than by scoring week in and week out?"
While pleased with the striker's progress, Gabriel believes there is still room for improvement and that further work could help Xulu become an even more dangerous forward.
"Now we just need to continue working with him and polish the areas that need improvement. He can easily reach 10 to 12 goals this season," he said.
Richards Bay currently sit 12th on the Betway Premiership table with three points from four matches.
The Natal Rich Boys will next face KwaZulu-Natal rivals AmaZulu at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu next Friday, with Xulu likely to be central to their attacking plans.
