Ryan Gravenberch signs new long-term Liverpool deal

The 23-year-old midfielder joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich in 2023 and has grown into a key figure in the squad under manager Arne Slot. His previous deal was due to run until 2028, but the new agreement extends his stay by a further four years.

Gravenberch played a significant role in Liverpool's Premier League-winning campaign last season and was recognised for his performances with a place in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year. This season he has continued to contribute, making 36 appearances across all competitions and registering 10 goal contributions.

Speaking after signing the new deal, the Netherlands international said remaining at the club was an easy decision.

"I feel really, really good. I was really proud to extend my contract at such a big club, so I'm really happy that I can stay for many more years," Gravenberch said.

"I felt directly the trust from the club and also from the manager. The decision for me was easy to make. My family is also happy here and we already feel settled."

Having spent close to three years at the club, Gravenberch said he feels fully at home on Merseyside and has developed a strong connection with the supporters.

"I have a really nice relationship with the fans. Always when I do something good in the stadium I hear them singing my chant," he added.

"I'm really grateful for the supporters because without them we would not be where we are now. In the future we want to give them many more trophies."

Looking ahead, the midfielder said his immediate focus is finishing the current season strongly before targeting further silverware in the years to come.

"For the short term, it's to end the season as well as possible," he said. "And for the long term, win many more trophies with Liverpool."

Liverpool are also continuing talks with fellow midfielders Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister as the club looks to secure the long-term futures of several key players.
