Striker Tashreeq Morris available as free agent following Kaizer Chiefs departure

Morris struggled to make an impact after joining Amakhosi in January 2025. The 32-year-old found regular game time hard to come by, while injuries further disrupted his progress following a move that was expected to help solve the Glamour Boys' long-standing goalscoring problems.

The former SuperSport United, Ajax Cape Town (now Cape Town Spurs) and Cape Town City forward leaves Naturena as a free agent after both parties agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent.

"Following constructive discussions between the Club and the player, Kaizer Chiefs and Tashreeq Morris have mutually agreed to terminate their contract," the club said in a statement.

"This amicable decision grants Morris the opportunity to pursue the next chapter of his career and join a team of his choice. We wish Tashreeq success in his future endeavours."

Morris's time at Chiefs failed to live up to expectations, with the striker scoring just one goal in 14 appearances across all competitions.

With clubs already having started with preparations for the 2026/27 season, Morris will now be hoping to secure a new team as soon as possible to ensure he completes a full pre-season ahead of the new campaign.
