The 30-year-old midfielder, now a free agent, recently parted ways with Cape Town City FC following their relegation to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
His appearance for newly promoted Durban City suggests he may soon be continuing his career in the Betway Premiership - and in his home province of KwaZulu-Natal.
Nodada was one of the original signings when Cape Town City was formed in 2016 through the acquisition of Mpumalanga Black Aces' Premiership status, IOL reported.
He made the transition from Aces to City and went on to become a mainstay in their midfield over the next nine seasons.
Renowned for his work rate and consistency, Nodada was frequently linked with moves to bigger clubs but remained committed to the Citizens until their drop from the top division.
His exit forms part of a widespread clear-out at the Western Cape club, with several senior players departing in the off-season. These include captain Thamsanqa Mkhize, Venezuelan forward Darwin Gonzalez, goalkeeper Darren Keet, and midfielders Fortune Makaringe, Haashim Domingo, Elson Sithole, and Kamohelo Mokotjo.
Interestingly, Nodada is not alone in his potential move to Durban City. Keet and Domingo - both former Cape Town City teammates - were also involved in the friendly against Arrows, and all three share a connection with newly appointed Durban City head coach Gavin Hunt.
The veteran tactician previously coached Keet and Domingo during his successful tenure at Bidvest Wits.
Should a deal be finalised, Nodada's experience could prove vital for Durban City as they prepare for life in the top flight.
