West Ham surge out of relegation zone with emphatic 4-0 win over Wolves

Braces from Taty Castellanos and Konstantinos Mavropanos sealed a crucial victory, lifting West Ham above rivals and giving fresh belief in their survival fight.

"It didn't start well," Nuno admitted after the match. "The first half was tough, we didn't find our rhythm and Wolves caused us problems. But the goal came at the right moment, and the second half was really, really good."

Wolves began brightly, with early pressure testing West Ham's defence, but the hosts gradually settled. Jarrod Bowen proved influential, delivering the breakthrough just before half-time with a precise cross that Mavropanos headed home.

"The goal helped a lot," Nuno said. "At half-time the players were calm, they listened, and we improved."

West Ham carried that momentum into the second half. Castellanos doubled the lead with a composed finish after strong link-up play, before adding his second moments later from Bowen's assist.

Nuno highlighted the importance of confidence in attack: "We need our strikers to feel confident and score. It's very positive for him."

Mavropanos then completed the rout late on, volleying in from another Bowen delivery to cap a dominant display.

"We are delighted with him," Nuno added. "It's about consistency and delivery. The players attacking the ball did very well."

Despite the result, the manager remained grounded: "It helps, of course - smiles and good energy - but it doesn't change anything. We still have a hard time ahead."

With a long week to prepare, West Ham now turn their focus to the next test at Crystal Palace on 20 April, knowing their survival push is firmly back in their own hands.
