Arne Slot: Liverpool's full focus fixed on 3 points against Fulham

The Reds return to Anfield on Saturday looking to respond after three straight away defeats. However, the visit of Fulham FC comes at a critical point, with a Champions League quarter-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain to follow, where Liverpool trail by two goals.

Speaking ahead of the match, Slot described this period as crucial for every club, not just his own.

"I think that's completely normal at the end of the season," he said. "For all teams, these are defining moments. We've not put ourselves in the best position, but we are still alive in Europe and have massive league games coming."

Despite the looming European tie, Slot stressed: "First, the focus should be on Fulham - and that's where it is."

Reflecting on the defeat to PSG, Slot admitted his side fell below their standards but sees it as motivation.

"If there is anything positive, it's that we faced one of the best teams and realised we were not at the level we want. The good thing is we get another chance in a few days to show we can compete better."

He also highlighted the physical demands on his squad: "Not all players can play another intense game three days later. We'll have to see what the line-up looks like."

Fulham arrive in strong form, sitting ninth and collecting ten points from their last five matches. Slot praised their structure under their manager, pointing to consistency and a clear playing identity.

"They have a clear structure and identity," he said. "You can see the understanding between the players and the manager."

Recent meetings between the sides have been dramatic, including a 2-2 draw earlier this season where Cody Gakpo scored late, only for Fulham to equalise moments later.

As Liverpool prepare for a defining stretch, Slot's message was simple - focus on the present, or risk missing out on the future.
