Argentina name provisional 2026 FIFA World Cup squad

The defending champions have been drawn in Group J at the finals where they will face Algeria, Austria and Jordan.

Argentina beat France on penalties in the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar after the match ended 3-3 after full-time.

The South Americans have now won the title three times, following victories in 1978 and 1986.

They will be led in the United States, Mexico and Canada by head coach Luis Scaloni, whose main omission is that of Roma striker Paulo Dybala.
