PSL Preview Wrap: Top-flight newcomers brace for tough tests as Premiership returns
As the Betway Premiership returns this weekend, all eyes will be on the newcomers to see how they adapt to the demands of top-flight football.
The 26-year-old attacker, born in Soweto, was unveiled by Galaxy after spending several months without a club. Everson had joined Magesi in 2024, but was released by the Betway Premiership outfit in January 2025 following limited game time.
Before his stint at Magesi, he was also on the books of Moroka Swallows, where he began to make a name for himself as a creative force in midfield.
Jwaneng Galaxy confirmed Everson's arrival in a statement posted on their official Facebook page, expressing excitement at securing his services.
"Jwaneng Galaxy is pleased to announce the signing of Jacob Mosoeunyana Everson," the club wrote.
"The 26-year-old attacker joins us on a two-season deal. He previously featured for Magesi FC and Moroka Swallows."
Everson now becomes the latest South African player to make a move north of the border, as Botswana clubs continue to show interest in PSL-based talent.
In related news, former Magesi head coach Owen Da Gama has also made a return to the dugout, having been appointed as the new head coach of Lions FC - a club recently formed after acquiring the top-flight status of VTM FC.
Da Gama, who was relieved of his duties at Magesi at the end of last season, will be tasked with building a competitive squad capable of making an impression in the Botswana Premier League.
Lions FC are expected to be active in the transfer market as they gear up for their debut season under the experienced South African tactician.
