Cape Town City announce Simon van Duivenbooden capture

The 23-year-old Dutch born South African citizen joins the Citizens ahead of their first season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Van Duivenbooden has spent the majority of his career with Vitesse, while also turning out for PSV's youth teams.

Last term he made 18 appearances in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, second tier of Dutch football and was selected by Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos for one of his preliminary international squads.

A club post read: "We're delighted to announce the signing of Dutch striker, Simon van Duivenbooden."

City recently announced the capture of former De Graafschap coach Jan Vreman as their head coach for the new season.
