Glody Lilepo targets more goals and glory with Kaizer Chiefs

The in-form DR Congo international has hit the ground running since joining the Soweto giants during the January transfer window, becoming the club's top scorer with six goals despite playing only half of the season.

In an interview with the club, Lilepo revealed how life has been since joining the South African giants and also explained his ambitions with the club.

"From the facilities to club operations, we have a lot of people working and taking care of us so we can focus on our mission," said the 27-year-old.

"The management and staff do a lot to help us, the team, so we are aware that we must fight for them on the field."

Lilepo recently scooped the PSL Goal of the Month award for April following his eye-catching solo effort strike in the 2-1 loss to Marumo Gallants at FNB Stadium.

He also added another potential Goal of the Month contender last week with his excellent equalizer against CAF Confederation Cup spot-chasing Sekhukhune United.

"I am happy to score when it helps the team. That is the most important thing, and I believe I can still give more."

The Glamour Boys take on Polokwane City in their final match of the season, a must win match for Amakhosi as they look to claim a top eight spot in the Betway Premiership standings.

"Personally, I am training well, as is the rest of the squad," he told the Kaizer Chiefs website.

"We understand how important this game is for our chances of finishing in the top eight and give us a more positive outlook to prepare for next season."

A victory for Chiefs against Rise and Shine at FNB Stadium on Saturday will ensure that the Nedbank Cup champions secure a spot in next season's MTN8 competition.

Kick off is at 15h00.
