Broos' team play Lesotho and Nigeria at the Free State Stadium next month with Mbokazi a notable inclusion in the head coach's squad.
The 19-year-old, who has one appearance his country in the 2-0 friendly victory over Mozambique, impressed for Pirates last season and is now touted to become an important player under Broos.
The talented centre-back forced his way into the Pirates team last term and made 19 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and creating one.
He has since been named Bucs vice-captain alongside Thapelo Xoki.
Broos said on SABC Sport: "He's confident, he's strong, he has a good technique, and he plays without fear, and this is special for a young player.
"I was curious when he came in [against Mozambique]. To see him play with the team in the friendly games, and I was assured when I saw him playing.
"It was a proof that he's a very good defender and a very young one. So, I never doubt one second when I made the list not to take him. He's really good and in the four years that I'm here, I never saw a defender like this and young.
“So, I'm very happy with him.”
