William Saliba boost for Arsenal as injury return nears
Arsenal have been handed a timely boost with William Saliba expected to return from injury sooner than first feared.
Italian outlet Juventibus reported that Juventus are closely monitoring Silva, who is under contract with City until 30 June 2026. The 31-year-old extended his previous deal in August 2023 by one year, prolonging a contract originally set to expire in 2025.
Silva has been a key figure in Pep Guardiola's squad since joining from Monaco in 2017, winning six Premier League titles and a Champions League.
Juventus are understood to be planning a free transfer approach for Silva next summer, viewing him as a top option to bring creativity and leadership under coach Igor Tudor. The club are also focusing on other players entering the final year of their contracts to strengthen the squad without overspending.
Silva's future at Manchester City remains uncertain. Guardiola has praised him repeatedly, saying, "Bernardo is irreplaceable. His intelligence, his movement, his understanding of the game, there are not many like him." While City could offer him a further extension, other clubs, including Juventus, are ready to act if Silva chooses a new challenge.
This season Silva has started twice in the Premier League and appeared from the bench in City's defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. His versatility, able to operate in midfield or on the wing, makes him a valuable asset for any team.
With Juventus aiming to challenge for Serie A again under Tudor, signing Silva would signal clear intent. Whether the Portuguese international extends at City or seeks a move to Turin remains to be seen.
