'I feel comfortable here' - Konrad Laimer hints at Bayern Munich stay after cup glory

Bayern sealed a comfortable 3-0 win on Saturday to complete a domestic double, with Laimer again playing an important role for the German champions.

The Austria international is currently under contract until 2027, but discussions over an extension have been ongoing for several months.

Speaking after the final, the 28-year-old made it clear he was enjoying life in Munich and hoped to add more trophies in the coming years.

"I feel really comfortable here. It's really a lot of fun in the team. We'll see how things continue," Laimer told media.

Laimer also dismissed suggestions that contract negotiations had stalled because of salary demands.

"You don't even know what I'm asking for," he said.

"To be honest, I've never demanded anything at all. We'll see where the journey goes. I've been here for three years now. We've won the double this year, and I plan to win a few more titles with the club."

The midfielder, who joined Bayern from RB Leipzig, has become a key figure because of his versatility, energy and work rate. His performances this season helped Bayern regain domestic dominance after winning both the Bundesliga and the German Cup.

Despite the positive mood surrounding negotiations, Laimer admitted there was still no clear date for an agreement to be finalised.

"In football, things move so fast. Maybe tomorrow we'll say, 'Boom, we'll get it signed.' Maybe we'll say that after the World Cup. I don't know. Things can happen very quickly any day," he added.

Bayern are expected to continue discussions with Laimer's representatives in the coming months as the club look to secure the long-term future of one of their most reliable midfield players.
