Kaizer Chiefs to face Asante Kotoko in Toyota Cup

The pre-season competition kicked off last season with Amakhosi losing 4-0 to Young Africans in Nasreddine Nabi's first competitive match in charge of the team.

They face a similarly difficult side in Ghanaian record champions Asante, who have won the Ghanaian Premier League 25 times.

They, however, have not won the title since the 2021/22 campaign.

The two sides will face off at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday 26 July 2025.

Chiefs' Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung said on the club's website: "This year we will be in Durban, our home away from home.

"I'm proud and privileged to announce that we will play Asante Kotoko from Ghana – a team that we played in the Vodacom Challenge many years ago. We've even had some players from them before.

"It's a tournament that showcases African talent, African brands and celebrates African football.

"We're excited to play Asante, because we're two teams who are playing in the Confed Cup, hopefully we will not meet each other too soon."
