Mngqithi was reappointed as the head coach of Arrows in March 2025 for his third stint with the club, following his departure from Mamelodi Sundowns.
He led his side to a 12th placed finish, having taken over from Mabhuti Khenyeza with the team struggling at the bottom of the standings.
This season, Mngqithi has recorded two wins, one draw and one loss, on the opening day of the new campaign.
They overcame Magesi 2-1 at King Zwelithini Stadium on Tuesday with goals from Junior Dion (11') and Nqobeko Dlamini (90+2), to cancel out a 10th minute strike from Mcedi Vandala.
The result left Abafana Besthende in fifth place with seven points, from four games.
Speaking after the match, Mngqithi explained that he hopes to make his side more competitive with a couple of exciting signings, while also looking forward to welcoming back injured striker Lungelo Nguse.
Nguse had been sidelined since the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign but is now back in training with his teammates.
The Arrows boss said on FARPost: "It's a big point [signing more forwards], we're looking in that space.
"We're also saying to ourselves, maybe we can buy ourselves a little bit of time because we also have Nguse, who might be coming back very soon.
"And Thokozani Khumalo has what it takes [to perform]. If he can be a little bit more confident, he's a good [goal] scorer. I'm confident that with the season progressing, there's a big chance he can give us a little bit more.
"But it is the truth that we are looking [at signing more players], but I don't want to rush and end up signing somebody that is not going to help us.
“I still have two signings that I have to make. I'm very excited about what I believe I can get from those signings.”
