Manqoba Mngqithi targets two more signings to balance Golden Arrows squad
Golden Arrows coach Manqoba Mngqithi says he is targeting two more signings to strengthen his squad for the current Betway Premiership season.
Gabadinho Mhango scored the only goal of the game at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Tuesday deep into first half stoppage time.
The result saw the Natal Rich Boyz move onto three points in 13th place, from four games played, and left the Chilli Boys bottom of the standings with one point.
Gabriel's charges started their season with three defeats, going down 2-1 to Marumo Gallants, 1-0 to Golden Arrows and 1-0 to Kaizer Chiefs.
But despite the losses, Gabriel could still see an improvement in his players from week to week and was happy to see them finally put some points on the board.
He said in the Sowetan: "We had to look at our previous results, and we felt that against Gallants and Arrows, we played well. We dominated the stats in those games and created numerous goalscoring chances but ended up on the losing end.
"Against Chiefs last week, we were not too good, and we ended up on the losing side. On the Chippa match, there was pressure on us to get the three points, and the points had to start ticking on the table as well. The boys did that and delivered.
"We were confident coming into the match. We felt like our performances in the previous games were good enough to earn us points. Based on that, we knew if we could come here and put in the same performance that we gave in the past, we could get points."
Richards Bay are next in action away to Siwelele at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium on Friday.
