The 21-year-old, who was promoted from the Amakhosi DStv Diski Challenge squad in January 2023, started his senior career with promise — scoring vital goals and helping Chiefs to lift the 2025 Nedbank Cup, ending the club's long-standing trophy drought.
However, the new campaign has brought new challenges. With Khanyisa Mayo, Etiosa Ighodaro, Flavio Silva, and Ashley du Preez all vying for spots in the starting XI, Duba has found minutes harder to come by.
The young striker has featured eight times this season without opening his scoring account but remains determined to fight his way back into contention.
His agent, Mike Makaab, recently confirmed that Duba had options abroad — including interest from Saudi Arabia — but the player chose to stay and prove himself at Naturena.
"Yes, there was interest in Wandile Duba from Saudi Arabia, but the move didn't materialise as the player is still with Kaizer Chiefs," Makaab told FARPost.
Rather than seeing the competition as a setback, Duba views it as motivation to grow stronger and refine his game.
The young striker remains focused on one goal — reclaiming his place in the team and contributing to the club's pursuit of silverware in the 2025/26 Betway Premiership.
